There really is no right way to plan a tattoo. Some tattoos are done almost spontaneously without much thought or planning at all, while others require multiple consults to plan and discuss the tattoo process. Furthermore some ideas can be so complex or abstract that they don't end up materializing into tattoos at all and simply a discussion about the idea happens with the hope that a more tangible tattoo idea may present itself in the future.
